If you’ve ever searched for the perfect stencil for your wall, furniture, or business space, you’ve probably noticed that most online shops only offer pre-designed templates in a few basic sizes.
But what if you want something unique — your own text, logo, or pattern, and in a large (XXL) format?
In that case, the solution is a custom (personalized) stencil, made exactly according to your idea and measurements.
In this article, we’ll explain how personalized stencils are made, what makes them different from standard ones, and how M Stencils approaches each project — from concept to finished product.
The Problem with Ready-Made Stencils
Most well-known online marketplaces such as AliExpress and Temu offer only standard-size stencils, usually in A4 format (around 20×30 cm).
These stencils work fine for small decorations, but they are not suitable for large wall projects, company logos, or signage.
Additionally, they’re often made from thin plastic, about 190 microns thick, which means they wear out quickly and can easily bend or tear.
At M Stencils, we use high-quality plastic of 300 or 500 microns thickness, depending on the design and project type.
This material is flexible, durable, and reusable, and can be used for a wide range of creative applications:
- Spray painting or roller painting
- Decorative techniques with plaster or texture paste
- Even pressure-washing pavement or concrete designs

How We Create Personalized (Custom) Stencils at M Stencils
1. Sending Your Design or Idea
Most of our clients already have a design or photo of what they want to turn into a stencil.
For best results, we recommend vector files, such as .SVG or .AI, as they ensure perfect precision during cutting.
In most cases, a high-quality .JPG or .PNG file is also sufficient.
If the image quality is low, we use artificial intelligence to upscale and enhance the details, ensuring a clean and precise final cut.
2. Choosing the Dimensions
Once we have the design, we confirm the exact stencil dimensions with the customer.
Our cutting machine can produce stencils up to 100 cm x 60 cm in one single piece (minus about 2 cm for the margin).
For XXL designs larger than this, we split the artwork into several sections that can easily be joined together after cutting.
